The Session
The Session is a space for therapeutic conversations about the difficult, the sensitive, and the unexpected things in life.

It's for times when you need to process your grief or worries with a skilled and compassionate professional.
One who has spoken with thousands of people following a death or crisis, and who can offer you support and helpful strategies for grief, trauma or relationship issues.
The Session's founder, Wendy Liu, is a Specialist Grief Counsellor, Masters-qualified Couple & Family Therapist, and Medicare-approved Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
She is also a Certified Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) Practitioner who has specialist training in its use with grief and trauma.

For seven years, Wendy was a Forensic Counsellor supporting people after a sudden, unexplained or unnatural death was reported to the Coroner. She has met families on their worst days and helped in the months and years that follow.

In Any Ordinary Day, an award-winning book about trauma and loss, ABC journalist Leigh Sales says, "Wendy's wisdom and her grasp on what's important are extraordinary".

Wendy Liu and Nathan MacArthur are Specialist Grief Counsellors who have over 30 years of combined experience helping grieving people.
In April 2020, as the pandemic was changing the way we live, they began offering a range of tailored webinars about the realities and complexities of grief.
Drawn from current research and the wisdom of the many people they have supported, these webinars are informative, practical and sensitively delivered.

Join Wendy and Nathan each month for a live webinar with Q&A or watch on-demand at a time and place to suit you.
Counselling & Consulting
Wendy knows counselling can reduce distress, provide clarity and strengthen purpose in our lives because she's seen it happen - a lot.

She offers a range of counselling in-person, over the telephone or online. There is also the option of 'Walk & Talk' therapy in historical Centennial Park.

Outside the therapy room, Wendy works closely with public and private sector organisations to provide consultation, clinical supervision and training. She approaches workshops and public speaking with the same values guiding her work with clients - humanity, integrity and a mission to make a difference.

Wendy is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. She is approved by Medicare to provide mental health services.
