As professionals, supporting people who are grieving is complex and difficult; seeing someone in suffering can make us feel helpless and anxious.
Nathan MacArthur and I are two specialist Grief and Trauma Counsellors who have over 30 years of bereavement experience between us. In this 2-hour webinar we share the theories, techniques and therapeutic stances we find most helpful in our work with bereaved people.
the impacts of grief (physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual)
using theories of grief in practice
assessing and responding to needs and risks
creative ways to support someone who is grieving
counselling strategies for working with powerful emotions (e.g. guilt and anger)
self-care in the context of working with death, dying and grief
